I was raised by two wonderful people and they came from good stock as well. Both raised in the country with no apology, and very proud of their parents. Although I never met either grandfather, I heard many unique and wonderful stories.
There was the story about the time grandpa Benson and his brother stole horses to go for a midnight ride. This would have been very interesting to grandpa Wall Gillespie who was a horse trader. Without a question both mom and dad's eyes would light up as they would tell stories about their father.
I know both grandpa's would have enjoyed this song from John Denver "Thank God I´m A Country Boy".
