Care- A burdened
state of mind, as that arising from heavy responsibilities; worry. Close attention;
painstaking application.
"Often it’s resisting that temptation to tell people what
they should do, even when we are sure we know the right answers, or to take
over the life of someone who has made a mistake or who has suffered from the
mistakes of others. To care means to cry
out with, whether in anguish or in joy, to put ourselves right beside another
human being, hold their hand, and tell them, “I am here with you. I believe in you. I will walk with you through this
valley.” It is an inconstant kind of
presence, I admit, but one no less meaningful because of it. When our care is genuine, it will allow
space, even as a part of our spirit remains with another."
Rev. Daniel Schatz
Compete- To
strive against another or others to attain a goal, such as an advantage or a
victory.
“Anytime you find someone more successful than you are,
especially when you're both engaged in the same business - you know they're doing
something that you aren't.”
